Adding to the three mobile TV standards currently adopted in China—T-DMB, DAB and DMB—the China Association for Standardization has approved and released the CSA158-2007 China Digital Multimedia Broadcast (CDMB) standard, according to a report from ChinaTechNews.com.

CDMB is based on DAB, a recommended standard for the radio, film and television department and China's homegrown AVS standard.

The association will submit the new standard, which was mainly drafted by CECT, the operating subsidiary of Qiao Xing Mobile, to the Standardization Administration of China as one of the candidates for national standard for mobile TV handsets. The decision can be expected in a few months.
