Solution in sight

Groupe Danone SA is making progress towards resolving a dispute with its Chinese partner Wahaha Group, Chief Executive Officer Franck Riboud said in an interview published in Le Figaro newspaper.

Riboud said the French yogurt maker is "moving towards solutions" to the dispute and hasn't set a schedule for its resolution, the report said. The dispute is weighing on the group's Asian results, he said.

Danone, which filed a lawsuit against companies and individuals related to partner Wahaha's former chairman Zong Qinghou, says it hopes to settle the dispute amicably. Danone has accused the Chinese company of illegally selling Wahaha-brand drinks outside their joint venture. That cost US$25 million a month in lost revenue, according to Danone.
