Focus Media Q3 Revenue Up 34% QoQ

Chinese out-of-home flat screen advertiser Focus Media Holding Limited (Nasdaq: FMCN) announced third quarter earnings after market close on Monday. Total revenue for the quarter was $151.4 million, up 33.6 percent quarter-on-quarter and 149.6 percent from the second quarter of 2006. Net income in the second quarter was $46.6 million, up 23.6 percent from the previous quarter and 72.6 percent year-on-year. Revenue from Focus Media's commercial location network grew 26.5 percent quarter-on-quarter to $64.6 million. The company's in-store network generated revenue of $7.1 million, down 2.2 percent from the second quarter. Focus Media's in-elevator poster frame network advertising revenue was $23.1 million, accounting for 24.3 percent of total digital out-of-home advertising revenue. The company's wireless advertising service revenues were $14 million in the third quarter, up 28.9 percent quarter-on-quarter. Revenues from online advertising network Allyes were US$42.5 million in the third quarter, up 68.5 percent compared to the second quarter of 2007. Focus Media expects fourth quarter revenues to come in between $160 million and $170 million, with net income between $62 million and $64 million.
