Along with the release of supporting policies such as the Renewable Energy Law, China wind power industry maintains a fast development. By the first half of 2008, the newly added installed wind power capacity was totaled at 2 GW in China; and the figure is expected to reach as many as 6 GW for the whole year of 2008.

By the end of Sep 2008, China had over 50 wind power equipment manufacturers. However, only three of those are able for the production of MW class wind turbine as following: Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd, DHI?DCW Group Co., Ltd, and Dongfang Steam Turbine Co., Ltd.
