City Telecom (H.K.) Limited (City Telecom) is a Hong Kong-based provider of residential and corporate fixed telecommunications network and international telecommunications services. The Company specializes in the residential mass market and small-to-medium corporate and enterprise market segments. The Company operates in two segments: fixed telecommunications network services (FTNS) and international telecommunications services (IDD). Its FTNS business involves the provision of fixed telecommunications network services through its self-owned Next Generation Network. Such services include broadband Internet access services at symmetric upstream and downstream access speeds of 25 million bytes per seconds to 1000 million bytes per seconds; fixed line local telephony services using voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) technology, and pay television services consisting of more than 110 channels.

International Telecommunications Service
City Telecom (H.K.) Limited played a significant role in the liberalization of the monopolized international telecommunications market in Hong Kong and launched its international telecommunications service in 1992.

Fixed Telecommunications Network Service
Established in 1999, Hong Kong Broadband Network Limited, the wholly-owned subsidiary of City Telecom (H.K.) Limited, targets to develop its own network infrastructure with advanced technology to deliver various fixed telecom network services.
Over the years, HKBN has invested over HK$3 billion in establishing its own network. Leveraging on the superior network built by optical fibre and CAT-5E high grade cables on Metro Ethernet IP technology, this advanced network caters for "multi-play" applications - conglomerating broadband Internet access, telephony, fully-digitalized IP-TV and corporate data services in a single network.
In June 2002, Hong Kong Broadband Network Limited was announced by Cisco Systems that it has successfully established the largest Metro Ethernet network in the world. In October 2005, HKBN has further become the first service provider in the world to achieve the Cisco Powered Network Metro Ethernet QoS Certified status. We are in the process of expanding network coverage from 1.88 mn to 2.0 mn residential homes pass, reaching 95% of Hong Kong's total population, and from 1500 commercial buildings to 2000 for corporate services, including Grade A office buildings in locations such as International Finance Centre (IFC), International Commerce Centre (ICC), Pacific Place, The Lee Garden, Cyberport, One Island East, etc.
