Swiss engineering firm Sulzer said its Chemtech division had signed a chemical plant contract with Chinese company BlueStar New Material Corporation.
Sulzer Chemtech will supply the group with engineering and equipment for China's largest bisphenol A plant in a deal valued at lower double-digit million Swiss francs.
The Swiss group said BlueStar Co. would produce bisphenol A at its new site in Nantong in the Jiangsu Province. Bisphenol A is used to make polycarbonate and engineering plastic for China's automotive industry.
Sulzer said its Chemtech products would allow BlueStar Co. to produce Bisphenol A at a higher purity and with less energy consumption.
