EBAY Inc, the world's biggest online auctioneer, will announce a merger of its China Website with Tom Online Inc.

The transaction will also include UMPay, a joint venture between China Mobile Communications Corp and China Unionpay Data Co that provides payment services via cell phones.

Linda Liu, a Beijing-based EBay spokeswoman, declined to comment on the report. Tom Online Executive Vice President Elaine Feng and China Mobile Communications spokesman Li Jun said they could not comment on the report.
