Coal prices in China may increase next year due to rising production costs including for mining rights, environmental protection, and safety measures and staff benefits.

Costs next year are expected to rise by 50-70 yuan per ton of coal produced. In the first 10 months of this year, the industry's average selling price for coal was 303.50 yuan a ton.
