CHINA may double the number of Internet users by 2011 as the nation's economic growth makes the service more affordable for a growing number of people, a researcher said.

The country will have a total of 126 million broadband users in four years, Vivek Couto, executive director of research firm Media Partners Asia Ltd, said. China added 14.4 million broadband subscribers last year for a total of 51.9 million, according to government data.
