CHANG'AN Ford Mazda Automobile Co Ltd yesterday ordered the recall of 7,924 Chinese-made Mondeo premier sedans to fix defective generators.
The joint venture, formed by Ford Motor Co, Mazda Motor Corp and China's Chang'an Group, said the models affected are two-liter Mondeos made from January 7, 2005, to December 15, 2006. Their engines could stop operating should generators break down under high operating temperatures, the company said. No accidents or damages have been reported, the company said, adding it would fix the problem by installing a ventilation pipe for free.
