CHANG'AN Ford Mazda Automotive Co Ltd has announced a cut in the price of its complete line of Ford Focus models by up to seven percent, the company said yesterday.
The major passenger car manufacturer - formed by Ford Motor Corp, Mazda Motor Corp and China Chang'an Group - offered the price discounts from 6,000 yuan (US$789) to 12,000 yuan on seven configurations of the Focus sedan and Focus hatchback, starting from Tuesday. The biggest cut was introduced on the sports version of its 2.0-liter Focus hatchback with manual transmission. The model is now priced at 147,800 yuan, a 12,000-yuan decrease. Chang'an Ford Mazda started selling the Focus in September, 2005. It became the driving force for its sales in China compared with the Mondeo sedan and the Fiesta economy cars. Sales of Focus amounted to 13,500 units in this April.
