Motech Industries announced yesterday that it plans to establish a US branch office in Colorado in order to extend its presence in the US photovoltaic (PV) market, as well as strengthen its ties with regional institutions on PV-related development, according to a company filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).

The branch office will be leaded by Doctor Tom Surek, who has been the PV program manager for the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) of the US and Solar Energy Research Institute (SERI), the solar-cell maker said.
