Volkswagen AG's vehicle sales in China are expected to hit 800,000 units this year, the Shanghai Securities News reported over the weekend, citing Su Weiming, vice executive president of Volkswagen (China).

Su said that during the eight months to August, VW's sales in China grew 28.8 pct year-on-year to nearly 600,000 units.

China's import orders for VW vehicles are expected to exceed 10,000 units this year, the report said.
