The auto-market in Beijing is revamping itself, and "going green". The launch of a fuel that is kinder on the environment, the so-called "level four petrol" is transforming the design of cars. Models that are guaranteed to run on this new fuel are in very hot demand.
The National level four petrol is one of China's major scientific inventions to reduce emissions. It is the equivalent of the European Union's four level standard. Many car buyers are concerned about whether their cars will be able to use the new environmentally friendly petrol.
Insiders expect double in sales for new generation cars that meet the standards. In contrast, older styles are experiencing stagnating sales, and are likely to retreat from the market.
As the country strives to become more environmentally responsible, environment protection has become a major selling point for car vendors. Cars with mixed dynamic resources and low oil consumption are stealing the limelight from other car models.
Fu Yuwu, Deputy General Secretary of China Vehicle Engineering Research Institution said "Cars with new resources will increase their market share by a lot this year. I think there will be a leap in their sales."
Major car producers are also scrambling to issue their latest style sedans equipped with environmentally friendly features, and increase output. Insiders predict there will be at least 10 new environmentally-friendly car models hitting the domestic market this year.
