China's Yangtze Power Co Ltd, operator of the world's largest hydropower project, on Tuesday posted a 47 percent rise in its 2007 profit, amid high water flow in the Yangtze River.
Yangtze Power booked a 5.3 billion yuan profit in 2007 based on Chinese accounting standards, it said in a preliminary earnings statement.
Sales rose 26 percent to 8.7 billion yuan.
Shares in Yangtze Power, which shares Three Gorges output with its state-owned parent, China Three Gorges Project Corp, almost doubled percent in 2007, roughly matching a 97 percent rise in the Shanghai Composite Index.
