MAZDA Motor Corp, a third owned by Ford Motor Co, will add a revamped Mazda6 and the MX-5 in China within a year.
The car manufacturer will make the Mazda6 sedan through its local partner FAW Car Co, while the MX-5 roadster will be imported, spokesman Kazuyuki Mitate said yesterday at a Beijing International Automotive Exhibition press conference. The new models are part ofMazda's game plan to nearly triple Chinese sales in three years. Demand for small cars has been increasing in the world's fastest-growing major automotive market, spurred by its booming economy.
