ANJI Car Rental and Leasing Co Ltd expects its profit in China this year to surge past its usual rate of 50 percent and for its revenue in the country to grow beyond the normal 25 to 30 percent rate due to increased demand for transport during the Beijing Olympics in August.
But Zhang Haibo, general manager of Anji, did not release any profit or revenue figures.
The car rental company, a joint-venture between Shanghai Automotive Industry Sales Co Ltd and Avis Europe Plc, will continue to enjoy a higher-than-usual volume of business after the Olympic Games because of another major event -- the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, Zhang said.
Expecting a high volume of international visitors, the firm already has opened offices at Beijing's airport and Shanghai's two airports to cater to their transport needs.
The firm will adopt a new strategy of integrating itself within Avis's international network by offering more services such as allowing foreigners to reserve cars before they arrive in China.
