CHINA Shenhua Energy Co, China's largest coal producer, reported its first-quarter profit jumped 16.9 percent to 8.7 billion yuan thanks to higher spot coal prices.
Revenue in this period jumped 20.8 percent year on year to 32.8 billion yuan, the company said.
Sales on the spot market accounted for 36.1 percent in the first quarter, up from 34.04 percent last year.
