Solar cell maker Neo Solar Power has reported an EPS of NT$6.15 (US$0.19) for the first half of 2010, the second highest among Taiwan's solar-theme stocks and only behind fellow solar cell company Gintech Energy's NT$6.40. First-half revenues reached NT$7.49 billion, up 96.1% on year, and after-tax profit totaled NT$1.31 billion.
Second-quarter revenues increased 48.7% on month to hit a new record at NT$4.48 billion, making Neo Solar Power the second fastest growing solar company during the period. After-tax profits and EPS for the quarter came to NT$1.04 billion and NT$4.87, respectively, on 17% gross margin.
The strong results were largely due to continuous strong demand for solar cells, allowing the company to post consecutive record months in sales since April. Neo Solar Power pointed out that orders will remain strong with 100% capacity utilization for the rest of the year.
