PORSCHE AG is confident sales will exceed 10,000 units for the very first time in 2010 in China, senior officials said.

"It is always a great honour to come to see the tremendous opportunities and success of Porsche in China," said Bernhard Maier, executive vice president for sales and marketing Porsche AG.

Maier made the remarks at the official opening of Porsche Centre in Pudong's Lujiazui.

This is the 30th Porsche Center in China with another two to be opened in Zhengzhou and Taiyuan.

Porsche China sold a record 9,090 units in 2009.
