THE 13th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition next year will emphasize a diversity of greener technologies and self-brand vehicles under the theme of "Innovation & Future," according to the organizer.

"Innovation reflects our hope to encourage the development of self-brand vehicles and solutions to reduce emissions, cut energy consumptions and alleviate traffic congestion," said Wang Xia, secretary-general of the China Chamber of International Commerce Automotive Chamber.

Major auto component makers, which failed to attend the biennial auto show last year due to the financial crisis, will return to display their latest technologies. Volvo will also bring back its commercial vehicles and Sunwin bus.

Also known as Auto Shanghai 2011, the show will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in Pudong New Area from April 21 to 28.
