Toyota RAV4 gains five stars from C-NCAP - ResearchInChina

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 12) - The results of second survey carried out by the China-New Car Assessment Program have been announced, Beijing Business Today reported today.

Of the six models surveyed in the C-NCAP, the FAW Toyota RAV4 (pictured above) gained the highest approval rating of 46.3 points and five stars. It was followed by the Zhengzhou Nissan NV200 (pictured below), the Dongfeng Nissan New Sunny, the Soueast Mitsubishi Galant and the Chery Rely X5, with four stars each.

The C-NCAP has already rated over 130 vehicles. "Before the majority of vehicles reviewed received three or four stars, but following the increase of safety standards among enterprises, the number of five star recipients has exploded", Head of the China Automotive Technology and Research Center Zhao Hang said. At the same time, the C-NCAP has raised the difficulty of its crash tests, increasing collision speeds and other test parameters. According to the C-NCAP, after raising test standards car ratings fell three points on average.
