July 7 – Dongfeng Automobile (600006) sold 1.51 million cars during the first half of 2011, up 12.48 percent year-on-year and hitting 52 percent of its annual sales target, reports stcn.com.

For that period, passenger car sales grew 17.13 percent year-on-year to 1.1 million while it sold a total of 408,000 commercial cars, an increase of 1.64 percent. It sold 618,500 cars under the Dongfeng Brand, up 15.3 percent year-on-year, and accounting for 41 percent of total sales made during that period.
