China will spend 1.7 trillion U.S.dollars on strategic industries in the next five years.

China confirms the plan to invest 1.7 trillion U.S. dollars in strategic industries in five years, Secretary of Commerce John Bryson on Nov 21st qouted U.S. officials as saying.

China told visiting U.S. officials that not all of the 1.7 trillion U.S. dollars will come from the government budget, but the plan itself highlights China's determination to shift to clean and hi-tech industries.
