China-based TV brand TCL's September shipments reached a high for the year. The firm now anticipates December shipments to reach the same level due to the upcoming Lunar New Year. According to industry sources, the stacked inventory from the third quarter has been cleared out, hence the fourth quarter will likely experience increase in shipments of LCD TVs.

TCL stated shipments in September reached over one million units due to the October long holidays in China helping to increase the total shipments in 2011. According to TCL, the total global sales of LCD TVs in 2011 will likely reach 10.20 million units, a large increase from seven million units in 2010. Despite growth of domestic demand of LCD TVs in China has been slowing down, TCL will continue to show strong growth due to expansion in newly-developed markets.

TCL recently announced it will form a strategic alliance with Taiwan-based Sampo to secure distribution channels in Taiwan.
