Foreign Apparel Retailers Fail Quality Inspections

December 13, Some clothes sold by well-known fast fashion brands including Zara, CK Jeans, Nautica and TeenieWeenie have been deemed as substandard by the Shanghai Municipal Quality Supervision Department, the official Xinhua news reported.

Zara, a unit of Spanish retailing giant Inditex Group, now finds itself on the department’s blacklist for the third year running following recent inspections.

The fiber content tested on a batch of Zara cardigans was found not to match that marked on the label.

The quality department reminded consumers that they should pay more attention to the quality of clothing when buying textile products.
