Universal Scientific Industrial (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.  (hereinafter referred to as “USI”) is a subsidiary of Advanced Semiconductor Engineering Inc (ASX) engaged in design and manufacturing of electronics. 50% of its revenue and profit are from its two products lines of communication and computer & storage.

USI is the core supplier of Apple’s wireless communications module, the wireless module supplied by USI accounts for about 50% in iPhone and iPad, 85% in Apple’s notebook and even 100% in iTV. Samsung and HTC are expected to be USI’s target consumers. The increase in computer & storage field are mainly attributable to server, NAS server and solid state disk.

Compared with the traditional hard disk, solid state disk features thin & light and electricity-saving, and its market space develops rapidly driven by Ultrabook. As the solid state desk supplier for Intel, USI’s business is expected to grow significantly.

USI won the IPO qualification of A share at the end of December of 2011, and invested RMB 555 million into its fund raised projects including key technological reform of wireless communications module and R & D center construction. After the completion of the project, USI will newly add 11 wireless communications module production lines with newly added capacity of 26.4 million, therefore, the capacity of communication products of USI will increase by 26% by the production expansion.
