Volvo deliveries rise 6% on demand for locally built XC60 and S60

Volvo Car Corp.'s China deliveries rose 6 percent from a year earlier to 6,171 vehicles.
The Swedish brand said its best-sellers in China are two locally produced models, the XC60 crossover and the stretched S60 sedan.
Volvo didn't disclose sales of individual models in the Chinese market last month.
For the first seven months of the year, Volvo's China sales totaled 46,859 vehicles, up 6 percent from the same period last year.
In July, the United States overtook China as the largest market for China, which is now owned by private Chinese carmaker Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co.
During the month, Volvo's U.S. deliveries surged 52 percent year on year to 8,556 vehicles on demand for the XC90 SUV and the XC60 crossover.
Globally, Volvo sold 41,681 vehicles in July, an increase of 9 percent from a year earlier.
