Several major Taiwan-based packaging and testing companies have reported sequential revenue gains for July 2010.

IC packager Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL) registered consolidated revenues of NT$5.52 (US$173 million) in July, up 0.8% on month. Accumulated sales from January to July totaled NT$37.59 billion, a 26.6% increase from 2009.

SPIL expects to generate sequential revenue growth through October, chairman Bough Lin said at the company's most recent investors conference.

SPIL saw consolidated revenues rise 4.5% sequentially to NT$16.39 billion in the second quarter, which came below market watchers' estimates. The watchers expect SPIL's third-quarter results to increase by less than 5% on quarter.

Powertech Technology (PTI), which focuses on memory testing and packaging, announced consolidated revenues grew 1.6% on month and hit a record high of NT$3.23 billion in July. Consolidated figures from January through July amounted to NT$21.17 billion, up 34.2% on year.

PTI has estimated revenues for the third quarter will be 5-7% higher than the level in the second quarter, followed by another 5-7% sequential revenue growth in the fourth quarter.

Walton Advanced Engineering, also a player in memory IC packaging and testing, posted consolidated sales of NT$686 million in July, increasing 1% on month and hitting a monthly record. Consolidated revenues for the first seven months of 2010 reached NT$5.29 billion, growing 32.3% compared to a year earlier.

Walton expects revenues to generate 7-10% growth sequentially in the third quarter, according to the company.
