PCB maker Tripod Technology has announced after-tax profits of NT$2.28 billion (US$71.48 million) or NT$4.89 per share on revenues of NT$19.68 billion in the first half of 2010. The first-half net profits represented an increase of 175% from a year earlier.

Although demand has slowed down recently, orders remain strong, especially for HDI boards, Tripod indicated, adding that third-quarter revenues are expected to rise by 5-10% sequentially from the second quarter's NT$10.51 billion.

For the second quarter of 2010 alone, net profits reached NT$1.18 billion, up 6.32% sequentially. Second-quarter gross margin stood at 22.06%, down from 22.66% in the first quarter.

For the first seven months of 2010, revenues totaled NT$23.47 billion, an increase of 38% from a year earlier.
