Taiwan-based IC design houses have seen their orders remain in low levels in recently although most notebook ODMs have stated that their shipment volumes will pick up later in the month after a decline in July 2010.

Consumer IC maker Sonix Technology said that orders for its notebook camera chips have remained flat in August as compared to July. However, the company expects order momentum to pick up in September.

PC chip makers Ene Technology and Global Mixed-code Technology (GMT) also expect orders to bounce back in September as sales have remained slow recently, according to the companies.
