Vietnam-Chipscale Advanced Packaging Services (V-CAPS) has announced their investment certificate from the government of Vietnam which recognizes the company as a 100 percent foreign owned high tech venture.
The investment certificate allows V-CAPS to move forward with plans to set up a 35,000m² semiconductor assembly and test facility at the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park (HHTP) approximately 30km outside of Hanoi in Ha Tay province.
"We are very excited about completing this major milestone for V-CAPS," said Harry Rozakis V-CAPS' CEO and president." We have known for some time that locating in Vietnam marks the next logical progression for the semiconductor assembly and test business as it migrates across the Asia Pacific."
Upon completion, V-CAPS will join Intel in having one of the most advanced high tech manufacturing facilities in Vietnam. In addition V-CAPS will have one of the cost effective and "green" factories in the outsourced semiconductor assembly and test market.
V-CAPS anticipates being operational before end of 2009.
