Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 12) - FAW Volkswagen is aiming to boost domestic production capability for its Audi brand from 300,000 to 700,000 vehicles by 2015, the Beijing News quoted CEO An Tiecheng as saying. The JV also hopes to increase the dealer network for the brand from 185 to 500 outlets, Mr. An said during an interview in Changchun, Jilin.

Mr. An added that Audi will begin to manufacture the new A6L hybrid (pictured) in China next year.

Meanwhile, FAW-VW revealed that they have revised Audi's sales target for this year from 280,000 vehicles to 300,000. The key reason behind the decision is the brand's record January to June sales performance of 140,699 units, the first time Audi's sales in China surpassed those in its home country.
