July 13 -- Shenzhen Desay Battery Technology (000049), a producer of mercury-free alkaline manganese batteries, disposable lithium batteries, fuel cells and related products, posted a 76.15 percent year-on-year increase in preliminary net profit to 40 million yuan in the first half of 2011, with earnings per share (EPS) of 0.2923 yuan, reports cs.com.cn, citing a company filing.

Sales revenue in the same period rose 70.51 percent year-on-year to 824 million yuan.

The company attributed the growth in net profit to the strong sales performance during the reporting period.
