On 28 June, the “Most Support-worthy Welfare Cause Programme” (“Programme”) jointly initiated by China Construction Bank (CCB)  (601939.SH) and Sina.com will be officially kicked off.  CCB will donate RMB5 million to the Programme.

The Programme mainly consists of five charity projects which are recommended by media and five different charity organisations. These are respectively the “Happy Homeland - Migrant Worker Business Start-up Grant”, “Support Programme for Orphans in the Yushu Disaster Area”, “Treatment Programme for Blind Children”, “BN Vocational School - Education Subsidy for Children of Migrant Workers” and “Stars and Rain - Treatment Programme for Autistic Children”. Netizens will vote among the charity projects and CCB will donate RMB5 million to the welfare cause which gets the most attention and support from them.  The charity organisation will organise and implement the charity project.

CCB implements this Programme, a proactive effort in integrating public welfare and internet, in order to extend the fulfillment of social responsibilities to the internet. The Programme aims to help improve education and living conditions of impoverished disadvantaged groups while conducting two-way communication with the general public through internet platforms. CCB encourages its staff, customers and the general public to be more concerned about the society and people’s livelihood to enhance their sense of social responsibility in supporting public welfare and actively dedicating their love and care.

The implementation of the charity project is divided into four stages namely project launch, netizens selection, project implementation and results announcement etc. It is expected the entire project will last for around one year.
