Key Chinese zinc and lead miner, Western Mining, expects its zinc concentrates output for 2011 to be 77,325 mt, down around 9% from 84,620 mt produced in 2010.

"There are some changes in our ore [grade] this year, so our zinc concentrates output in the current year will be less," a source from the producer based in Qinghai province said Tuesday.

But she added that the company's zinc concentrates output in the second half of this year "should exceed 40,000 mt, more than the [34,998 mt] produced in the first half."
