August 15 -- Guangdong Goworld (000823) filed its revenue and net profit respectively grew 10.38 percent and 33.65 percent to 1.53 billion yuan and 79.52 million yuan in the first half, reports China Business News. Touch-screen subsidiary earned revenue of 340 million yuan and a net profit of 25.57 million yuan in the first half, up 2.03 and 42.02 percent. All percentage changes cited in this article are year-on-year.

At present, ZTE (000063, 0763.HK), Hisense Electric (600060), and K-touch are the company’s touch-screen major customers. Goworld’s crystal display business registered a 3.67-percent increase in its gross margin.

Goworld says touch-screen sales to ZTE amounted to 14.43 percent of its total revenue in the first half.

The source said mobile sales worldwide grew 16.5 percent to 428.7 million handsets in the first half. ZTE’s market share in global market rose to three percent, with total sales of 13.07 million units, putting it among the top five sellers internationally.
