China Resources Enterprise H1 profit decreases

(Source: Datamonitor)China Resources Enterprise, Limited, an operator of retail, beer, food and beverage segments, has reported a profit attributable to shareholders of the company of HKD1.57 billion, or HKD0.65 per share, for the six months ended June 30, 2011, compared to HKD4.24 billion, or HKD1.77 per share, for the six months ended June 30, 2010.
Turnover for the first six months of 2011 was HKD53.23 billion, compared to HKD41.57 billion for the first six months of 2010.

Gross profit for the first six months of 2011 was HKD13.24 billion, compared to HKD10.64 billion for the first six months of 2010.

Chen Lang, CEO and executive director of the company, said: "Our strategy of building our core consumer business, including retail, beer, food and beverage businesses, continued to deliver sound overall results in the first half of 2011. Through new acquisitions and organic growth, we further expanded our business and enhanced our profitability, which led to sustainable growth during the review period and a stronger market-leading position in China."
