Government-owned Bank of Taiwan said Tuesday it plans to sign an agreement with China Construction Bank Corp. (0939.HK) to cooperate in cross-strait lending, trade and other financing activity, as well as information exchange and staff training.

Bank of Taiwan has signed agreements with several banks, including Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd. and Bank of China Ltd. since June 2010, when China and Taiwan signed the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement, the first cross-strait trade pact that opened services, including banking, to cross-strait investment.
