With the background Geely and Chery integration back to united brand, SAIC- GM- Wuling, another major stated owned brand, has developed new integration journey as well.
3 years ago, “Mini Bus King”SAIC- GM- Wuling has entered passenger car segment, which start from commercial car and join passenger car segment. SAIC- GM- Wuling introduces passenger car brand Baojun, which aims to separate coming passenger car brand and mini bus Wuling brand. Besides, Baojun recruited more dealers and build passenger car channelseparately.
At present, SAIC- GM- Wuling keeps both brands of Wuling and Baojun, and integrates resource. In the future, other aspects such as research, manufacture and sales will share resource.
This year, SAIC- GM- Wuling aims 1.8 million cars goal, which has increased 12.5% over 1.6 million cars sales of last year. It is not a very high growth. Baojun takes 200 thousands cars sales, which is double over market performance of last year. It is not an easy goal to fulfill.
Compared with Baojun sales growth, SAIC- GM- Wuling pays more attention on mini bus customer consumes demand upgrade. “Accumulated customers of mini bus area have exceeded 10 million. Their upgraded demand is not only in mini bus area, but also includes passenger cars. Baojun will introduce new modes faster and integrate resource, which follow the pace of our customers.” LIANG Xiaodong, director of SAIC- GM- Wuling says.
Baojun will welcome its intensive product introduction this year.Hatchback Baojun 610 launches market not long ago. With 65.8 to 85.8 thousands CNY, it has fulfilled price Baojun 630 deep down. It aims 60 to 80 thousands CNY segment.
The first MPV product Baojun 730 will launch market officially at the end of this year. The car positioned “7 seats family car”, which is based on SAIC- GM- Wuling successful experience. It adopts front drive passenger car platform, which shall meet family customer requirement better. Besides, Baojun 630 will introduce more configurations up to market requirement.
Product line will largely increases as for Baojun brand, which is launched market only 2 years and relies on just one 630 mode.
It has fulfilled 20 thousand cars sales since Baojun 630 market launching in August year 2011. Baojun sales have exceeded 110 thousand cars in the year 2012. However, sales of year 2013 have remained 100 thousand, which the same with year 2012 did.
