Metro car contract

ALSTOM SA, the world's second-biggest train maker, and its partners won a 210-million-euro (US$286 million) contract to supply cars to the Shanghai metro network.

Alstom and its Chinese partner Puzhen won the contract from Shanghai Shentong Holdings Group to provide trains for the city's mass transit line, the Paris-based company said in an e-mailed statement. The deal also includes Satee, Alstom's joint venture that makes traction equipment in Shanghai. Alstom's share of the contract is 66 million euros, the company said.
