CHINA Southern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines have raised the fuel surcharge for flights from Southeast Asian countries to China to offset the pressure of oil price hikes. China Southern, the country's biggest carrier by fleet size, raised the surcharge to US$55 from US$40 while the Shanghai carrier raised it from US$40 to US$59.
