Sina to Invest More in Weibo After Loss

Sina, operator of one of China's largest portal website, intended to put more money into weibo, its twitter-like microblog, after it posted the largest quarterly loss, according to China's Shanghai Daily.

Weibo.com has around 250 million registered users by the end of September, making it the most popular microblog in China.

Chao said earlier this year the company will invest $100 million in Weibo in 2011.

Sina reported a loss of $336.3 million, or $5.10 a share in Q3 ended September 30, compared with a profit of $31.3 million a year ago.
