The Ministry of Finance, the State Administration of Taxation, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology yesterday jointly published a notification which exempts users of new energy vehicles and ships from the vehicle and ship usage tax, reports Nanfang Daily.
In addition, the tax on users of energy-saving cars and ships will be reduced by half.
According to the report, the tax incentives were effective from January 1, 2012.
New energy vehicles mainly refer to pure electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles, and fuel cell vehicles.
