August 10 -- Southern Building Materials (000906) posted a 47.04 percent year-on-year rise in first half 2011 net profit to 35.93 million yuan, with earnings per share of 0.11 yuan, reports p5w.net, citing a company filing.

Sales revenue increased 101.85 percent year-on-year to 11.11 billion yuan.

According to the company, the higher revenue was due to its expansion in central and west China.
