Foxconn International Holding (FIH) reportedly has landed smartphone orders from China-based Xiaomi and will start the production in January of 2012 with first batch of production volume reportedly to reach three million units; however, market watchers are conservative about the reported number.

Xiaomi claimed its smartphone has the fastest performance among all players, while is only price at 1,999 yuan (US$316) with CEO Lei Jun also recently saying sales of the current model of Xiaomi smartphones have reached 215,000 units since the device launched in August 2011 and the company's smartphone models in the future will be produced by both FIH and Inventec Appliances.

However, FIH declined to comment about its orders or clients
