   Date:2012-02-27

The number of people who are using John Deere forestry equipment around the world has risen, and the company has expanded its manufacturing capacity to meet the increased demand for its products.

It is reported that John Deere will invest $8.5 million into the project, for it is expanding a production facility as well as modernizing various components and processes.

"Global sales of John Deere’s forestry equipment for the cut-to-length forestry products have increased dramatically," Jussi Malmi, Deere’s general manager for cut-to-length products, said in a statement. "While we routinely work to improve our production processes, it becomes even more important at times when there is a sharp rise in sales volumes."

John Deere has expanded its global operations as part of a push to help farmers and construction crews around the world, and the new plant in Joensuu, Finland, will help it remain the world's largest manufacturer of forestry equipment, according to the news source.

The John Deere website noted that although the company is expanding its global reach, it is doing so to help customers around the world receive the products and services that they need.
