Terex announces partnership with China Sinomach for crane business

   Date:2012-03-23

Terex announced it has agreed a partnership with China Sinomach Heavy Industry as its new strategic partner for Sichuan Changjiang Engineering Crane Co., Ltd (SCE). SCE is a manufacturer of on-road truck cranes in China, with a product lifting capacity ranging from 8 to 160 ton.

The cooperation substantially reduces Terex's holding in its troubled Chinese joint venture truck crane manufacturing business SCE. In addition to the Sinomach global network, SCE will continue to have access to the Terex overseas distribution, sales channels, and engineering capabilities to improve its global competitiveness. China Sinomach Heavy Industry is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China National Machinery Industry Corporation and specialises in restructuring and integrating engineering machinery businesses.

Sinomach has three industrial bases, respectively, in Tianjin, Changzhou and Luoyang. It has established joint-venture companies with other companies in the machinery industry, such as Hyundai, Komatsu, and Martec.
