August 18 -- Sinopec Shandong Taishan Petroleum (000554.SZ) posted a 45.73 percent increase in net profit from the first half of 2011 to 7.78 million yuan, reports the China Securities Journal, citing a company filing. Revenue increased 28.33 percent to 1.94 billion yuan during the reporting period. All percentage changes cited in this article are year-on-year.

Sales volume of refined oil was 258,000 tons, up 10.49 percent during the reporting period. Revenue from refined oil and diesel oil rose 22.29 percent and 33.29 percent during the reporting period. Taishan Petroleum's gross margins from lubricant oil and natural gas products increased 2.63 percent and 3.54 percent in the same period, respectively.

Shares of Sinopec Shandong Taishan Petroleum (000554) fell 1.28 percent to close at 11.61 yuan this afternoon.
