Shanghai Electric Group, Schneider Team Up On Energy Efficiency

August 25 -- Shanghai Electric Group Company (601727.SH) cooperated with Schneider on a project to cut energy use in buildings by as much as 30 percent, reports China Business News, citing a company filing. On the list of edifices to become more environmentally friendly are administrative buildings, commercial buildings and cinemas.

Schneider CEO Jean-Pascal Tricoire said the company will send an expert group to participate in the project. Jean also added that Shanghai now has some 8,000 buildings with energy efficiency problems.

The central government’s goal is to cut China’s carbon dioxide emissions by 40 to 45 percent between by 2020
